D.A.V. College successfully organized a Socio-Educational Tour for students of BBM 1st Semester and BBS 1st Year to Kalabang, Pokhara, with the objective of providing practical exposure beyond the classroom and enhancing students’ understanding of real-world socio-cultural and economic environments. The tour was designed as an experiential learning initiative to help students connect theoretical knowledge with ground realities.

During the visit to Kalabang, students had the opportunity to closely observe and interact with the local rural community. The tour offered valuable insights into the socio-cultural practices, indigenous knowledge systems, rural livelihoods, and economic activities prevalent in the area. Students explored traditional lifestyles, local governance practices, community cooperation, and the role of indigenous technology in sustaining rural economies.

A key focus of the visit was understanding rural economic dynamics, including agriculture-based livelihoods, small-scale enterprises, and community-driven development initiatives. Through direct interaction with local residents, students gained a deeper appreciation of cultural diversity, social values, and sustainable practices that shape rural life. Such exposure enabled students to critically analyze socio-economic challenges and opportunities within rural communities from a management and development perspective.

The tour also encouraged teamwork, observation, communication, and analytical skills among students. It served as a platform for experiential learning, allowing participants to reflect on social responsibility, inclusive development, and the importance of community engagement in nation-building. The visit significantly contributed to broadening students’ perspectives on management education by linking academic concepts with practical societal contexts.

D.A.V. College extends its sincere appreciation to the faculty mentors, who contributed to the successful planning and execution of the tour. The active participation, discipline, and enthusiasm displayed by the students played a vital role in making the socio-educational visit both meaningful and memorable.

Through such initiatives, D.A.V. College continues to emphasize experiential and value-based learning, nurturing socially aware, responsible, and future-ready management graduates.
